About

Sam Kosierb

Long before I became a therapist, I was a therapy client. That experience taught me something I carry into every session: it takes real courage to ask for help. You deserve to be met with care the moment you reach out.

While therapy can be awkward or uncomfortable at times, I don't think it needs to be. I take a relational and collaborative approach, so I meet you exactly where you are and we go from there. When we can slow down together, and move away from judgment, something shifts. You start to extend yourself the same compassion you'd offer someone you love.

I work from a psychodynamic, attachment-based, and body-oriented lens, drawing on person-centred and trauma-informed approaches depending on what you need.

That means I'll tailor my approach to you, through a lens of understanding the root of the issue to tackle your day-to-day struggles. I hold a PhD and Master's degree in Counselling and Spirituality from Saint Paul University, and I'm a Registered Psychotherapist and Canadian Certified Counsellor. I also provide clinical supervision for psychotherapy students and stay engaged in ongoing training, so my own learning never really stops.

I work with individuals aged 12 and up, and my practice is LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent-affirming. You are welcome here exactly as you are, not the version of you that's easier to sit with.

Therapy isn't about fixing what's broken in you because nothing is. It's about building a steadier, kinder relationship with yourself, one session at a time. I'd be honoured to walk alongside you while you do.

"Be curious, not judgmental."
